Kimono day

Today I decided to have a kimono-day. Didn't have much to do for a change, and it could be that some friends might visite to browse through some vinyl we're selling, so I thought, why not. Good opportunity to practise some kitsuke, and I wanted to see if the brown woven obi Misuchi gave me would match with my black and brown striped komon.

And it is a perfect match! As for obiage and obijime I choose my green set. It may not be the right set, but I think it looks okay. I do have a black obiage, and I thought about pairing it with a silvery-looking obijime, but green looked better. And finally a flat obijime-knot!

One thing did I found out today was that doing laundry can be done in kimono! But lets face it, that is just putting your laundy in the washer and later putting it in the drier. Nothing difficult about that, even when you're dressed in kimono ^_~

Still, I got some cold feet, so I changed my tabi for some socks and warm slippers (sorry, but I don't know the english word for pantoffels). Charming isn't it ;-)

It looks very nice with the green and maybe a dark orange obiage and obi-jime would look nice but the slippers are the most beautifull items hahahaha

Haha, yes, don't you just love the slippers? I wore the tabi for a couple hours, but they were getting soo cold.
But thanks for the tip about a dark-orange set!

The slippers are adorable! ^_^
I like your set it looks great I seccond everything Rota said. And maybe a warm orange obi age with an obi jime in the brownish colour of the kimono would be nice too... there's just so much possible!

Thank you Misuchi! Obijime and obiage are items you just can't have enough of, I'm beginning to understand that... But now I know one thing to look out for.

Oh yes you never have enough of those!
But...
when you have pink, green and orange you will come a long way, really. Well a red is good too, because it's like "neutral" in Japanese colour-scheme.
And then the little buying monsters comes along, whispering… I need more shades of those colours, and then… I need just more colours, and then… well listen to your wallet ^_^

Don't have orange yet, or red (only a red shibori obiage for my furisode). O well, my wallet will be closed for kitsuke-items the next few weeks, but after those weeks.... ^_~

Beautiful kimono and obi combination! I agree that red or orange would be a good color choice for accessories.
